Honey I’m home! After a lengthy break from blogging to focus on finishing my degree at Queen’s University I have finally returned to Hailey’s Workshop. As much as I’m glad I took this time off and was able to focus on my academic goals I am incredibly happy to be back. Blogging has become such an important part of my life over the last two years and I truly missed it these last few months. I’m thrilled to be writing again and cannot wait to throw myself back into this creative space.
Now let’s discuss what’s been happening since we last talked. If you don’t follow me on Twitter or Instagram then I should catch you up on a major change in my life…I MOVED! The girl from a small rural town is now living in an apartment in downtown Toronto. I officially moved into my new home with my boyfriend, Alex, and our friend, Jordan, at the beginning of December. We are in a 2bed 2bath condo with views of the CN Tower. The place is small but it’s really starting to feel homey (once all the decorating is done I might do an apartment tour). Despite my anxiety about moving the transition has been rather smooth and I’m incredibly happy to be living in the city. Your twenties only happen once and this is a great place to experience them!
Moving to a major city from the country is a massive change. Here are some of my thoughts on living here after a couple months.
Things I like about living in Toronto:
– You can walk everywhere
– There are amazing restaurants
– You can have food delivered straight to your door
– I’m finally living with my boyfriend after five years together
– I love being so close to the lake
Things I’m not crazy about:
– I always seem to be walking behind someone smoking (yuck)
– You cannot see the stars at night (I miss them)
– It’s loud
It feels so amazing to be writing again! If you have any suggestions for fun things to do in Toronto let me know in the comments section.
