Despite a record breaking warm December, snow has finally coated the ground and it really feels like winter outside. As someone who loves the snow I couldn’t be happier. Unfortunately, the cold weather also brings dry flakey skin that can seem impossible to treat. Luckily I’ve been going through all my skincare samples and have discovered two winter skin savers that I think will help you survive the colder months. Now I know I’m late to the bandwagon on this one, but the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is a skincare game changer. This moisturizer is for anyone, like myself, who suffers from extremely dry skin, eczema, or just needs something to combat the dry winter air. It is formulated with oatmeal, shea butter, and eucalyptus oil that soothes on contact and lasts all day. I love how long lasting this product is. I can put it on first thing in the morning and it will last all through the day. It is also non greasy so you don’t have to worry about it breaking you out.
Similarly to the Ultra Repair Cream, the La Roche-Posay Lipikar Baume AP+ is a moisturizer that can be used all over the body and on the face. The Lipikar Baum is thicker then the Ultra Repair cream and is more of a balm in texture. Its great for those rough scaly patches that make you look part-lizard. I would recommend it for your hands, elbows, legs, and as a spot treatment for severely dry areas on your face. Its also effective at treating eczema flare-ups. If you have oily skin this product might be a little intense for you but its great for us dry skinned people.
Hope this helps everyone combat the dry winter air! What are your favourite skincare products right now? Any recommendations for dry skin? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
